Nami Water Seven Funny One Piece

The life of a pirate is filled with excitement, danger, tragedy, and laughter. When it comes toOne Piece's legendary Straw Hat crew, the latter is never in short supply. Eiichiro Oda's manga and the anime adaptation make great use of the core pirates' eccentricities to produce some truly hilarious scenes that always feel entirely in character. Like their unabashedly blunt captain, Sanji and Zoro are just as liable to cause someone to laugh to death as they are to beat them in a fight.

Over the course of more than 900 episodes, the Straw Hats' first mate and cook have been at the heart of some ofOne Piece's most hilarious scenes, even if the character themselves fail to appreciate the humor of the situations. Here are just some of Sanji and Zoro's funniest moments.

10 Sanji: The Wanted Poster

Sanji wanted poster

While both Sanji and Zoro are inherently cool characters, the former places more importance on looking cool than the latter. There are few things Sanji detests more than looking stupid, so the thought of having a hilarious dumb picture of him floating around the entire world represents a worst-case scenario for Black Leg.

Following the Enies Lobby Arc, each of the Straw Hats is given new wanted posters. Unfortunately for Sanji, the World Government got their lines crossed and mistook Sanji's appearance for someone else.

9 Zoro: The Dilemma

Partnering the cowardly Usopp with the (foolishly) fearless Zoro is a recipe for comedy gold, with the pair's crowning moment of hilarity occurring during the Enies Lobby Arc. When the two end up handcuffed together while on the verge of a fight against CP9's Jabra and Kaku, Zoro and Usopp unleash a comedy double act routine that could have made Abbott and Costello proud.

Eventually, Zoro suggested they play a game of rock-paper-scissors to determine who should cut off their hand. For some reason, Usopp raised some objections to this solution.

8 Sanji: The Fall

Even in life-threatening situations, Sanji can still be relied upon to maintain a calm demeanor; however, that does not mean Sanji is emotionless. In fact, Black Leg is arguably one of the most expressive members of the Straw Hat pirates, as this legendary Skypiea Arc moment can attest to.

Usopp, Luffy, and Sanji inadvertently embark on a boat ride that culminates with a steep fall. Faced with a seemingly never-ending drop from the heavens, the typically cool Sanji drops any pretense and unleashes a scream so deafening, only dogs could possibly hear it.

7 Zoro: The Pose

Zoro is a man of action. Although he is not dumb, Zoro's assertive nature means the pirate often reaches hasty and dangerous conclusions. These traits frequently manifest through Zoro's tendency to get lost and his willingness to sacrifice body parts.

During the Little Garden Arc; Zoro, Nami, and Princess Vivi are caught by Mr. 3's Devil Fruit ability that gradually turns people into wax figures. Being the solution-oriented thinker that he is, Zoro naturally proposes they cut off their feet. Once that plan is shot down, he decides to strike a pose worthy of a "Zoro" statue. This hilarious exchange somehow makes Zoro look simultaneously really stupid and really cool.

6 Sanji: Two Peas In A Pod

Everything inOne Pieceserves a purpose. A seemingly throwaway gag could be setting the stage for a new character and a small arc later down the line. Almost a hundred episodes after Sanji's wanted poster is revealed, Black Leg meets the person behind the face that caused him so much anguish.

All of Sanji and Duval's scenes are hilarious, as the former tries desperately to refuse claims that they look anything alike. Going by Brook's relentless giggling at Sanji's expense, this was one moment even the other characters found to be hilarious.

5 Zoro: The Wrong Ship

Following a two year timeskip, the Straw Hats agree to meet once again in Sabaody Archipelago. Incredibly, Zoro is the first to arrive, although the anime builds up suspense for his big comeback by not showing his face for a few episodes.

As is often the case withOne Piece, this leads to a hilarious punchline as Zoro accidentally falls asleep on the wrong ship and then cuts it in half. When the other crew rightfully complains, Zoro simply states it was fate for him to get on the wrong ship. Apparently, fate works in mysterious and hilarious ways.

4 Sanji: Hoge!

Thriller Bark has a somewhat divisive reputation among the anime's fans. While the arc's horror theme and villain are generally highly regarded, Thriller Bark also noticeably drags in places. It is one of the earliest examples of theOne Pieceanime stretching out storylines from the manga.

Although far from perfect, the arc does have some of the anime's funniest moments. While Luffy pushing an emerging zombie back into his grave is a highlight, Sanji is Thriller Bark's true comedy star. In a moment purposefully designed to smash Black Leg's mystique, Sanji's brave leap off the Thousand Sunny to go rescue three lost comrades ends with the cook smashing face-first into the side of the ship. The only thing he could say is "Hoge!"

3 Zoro: Pica

One Piece's humor is not always sophisticated, with slapstick often being the name of the game. On occasion, the joke is even simpler than a pratfall; for example, one of the anime's most amusing scenes revolves completely around a huge character having a particularly high voice.

Despite being literally the size of a mountain, Pica's intimidating presence is completely deflated because Zoro and Luffy cannot stop laughing at his voice. Zoro's reaction is especially hilarious since the swordsman tries to maintain his typical stern demeanor, only to grow exponentially more frustrated when Pica's thin voice keeps causing him to laugh.

2 Sanji: Super Saiyan Sanji

Sanji burst into flames

While Sanji's goal to find the All Blue was one of the reasons he decided to join Luffy's crew, the main one was Nami. Although he often acts like a gentleman, Sanji does not hide the fact that he loves women to the point of obsession. Taking these things into account, it is hardly surprising that Nami abruptly getting married would come as a bit of a shock to Sanji. Naturally, the only logical reaction to this news is to go Super Saiyan.

It should be stated that, during this same scene, Sanji also found out that someone had already discovered a Devil Fruit that causes invisibility. He does not take this news well, either.

1 Zoro: Stuck In A Chimney

How could a moment be simultaneously devastating and painfully funny? After learning that Robin is going to be taken away by CP9, Zoro rushes to make an intervention but, while running across Water 7's rooftops, winds up getting lost. Long story short, he ends up stuck in a chimney.

On the one hand, the Straw Hats fail to save Robin, a turn of events that leads to the captured pirate being taken to Enies Lobby where she could await sentencing. On the other hand, an upside-down Zoro gets stuck in a chimney. Even with the impending threat of a massive tidal wave, there is simply no way this visual could be anything but hilarious.
